The caregiver takes over the daily support you normally provide, from personal care and meals to medication reminders and company, for a few hours or a few weeks. In-home respite care for elderly adults keeps them in familiar surroundings while you recharge.

Almost every family caregiver we meet feels it, and almost every one of them says the same thing after a month: they wish they had started sooner. Taking a break is not abandoning your loved one. Exhausted caregivers get sick, get injured and burn out, and then nobody is cared for.
The first visit can take adjustment, which is why we keep the caregiver consistent and follow your loved one’s existing routine instead of imposing a new one. Most clients settle in within a visit or two, and many come to look forward to the company.
Hospice respite is a short inpatient stay arranged through a hospice benefit. Our respite care happens at home and is not tied to a diagnosis: it exists for the family caregiver, whatever the reason for care. The two can work side by side, and we often support families who also have hospice involved.
The most common pattern is four to eight hours once or twice a week, protected time the family caregiver can count on. Others book occasional overnights or a block of full days around travel. There is no minimum commitment; we build the schedule around your life.
Most families pay privately by the hour, and many are reimbursed through long-term care insurance, which typically covers respite. Veterans and surviving spouses may qualify for VA Aid and Attendance, which we are approved to work with. Medicare only covers short inpatient respite through the hospice benefit, not ongoing respite care at home.
