Senior Housing Options
Leisure World

Leisure World was a pioneering endeavor of Ross W. Cortese, as it was the very first large scale master planned community for seniors when ground broke on construction in 1960. The same developer constructed the nearby Rossmoor community (first walled community in the US), Laguna Woods, Mr Cortese nearly completed the Rossmoor retirement community in Walnut Creek, CA.
No review of resources available or seniors in Seal Beach would be complete without a dive into Leisure World. Leisure World was first established in the 1960s and was one of the first major retirement communities in the United States. Today Leisure World serves about 9,000 residents which represent one-third of Seal Beach’s population.
Safety is a priority, with manned guards at each entrance 24/7, and in-community patrol services.
And after safety, is fun! The grounds boast a swimming pool and heated pool. A 9-hole golf course, woodworking and artwork studios, lawn bowling, a sewing room, exercise facilities, six clubhouses with community-driven gatherings and activities… and much more. The weekly circular features the many different clubs and special interest groups, meaning you can make new relationships and relish your passion projects, without having to drive far or search for them. Loving Homecare has provided home care for many leisure world residents, allowing them to stay in their affordable and amenity-filled homes, for as long as possible.

Paying for Home Care in Seal Beach
The discussion regarding which resources to allocate at which form of care, at which time, and for which people, are some of the most puzzling for many families. Fortunately, there is help available for those wanting financial guidance for these important and high-trust decisions.
True Freedom Homecare Plans

True Freedom allows seniors who do not qualify or who waited too long to acquire long-term care insurance to have an affordable way to ensure they receive in-home care, even if they have pre-conditions and medical challenges.
True Freedom is a little-known option to help families affordably pay for in-home care. While not insurance, it is comparable to a short-term disability insurance plan but instead offers:
- Long-term access to care hours that can be used over many years, which are inflation-protected (not additional riders required to protect your investment)
- Ability to have in-home care in any state from either a qualified home-care agency or a friend or trusted private-hire (cannot be a family member), wherever you may live
- Allows access to anywhere from 1,500-10,000 hours of care. Loving Homecare is an approved provider of care hours with True Freedom.
